Differential applications of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology and traditional modeling approaches in pharmaceutical R&D

Rosa's PhysioPD™ is one example of a Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) approach. QSP is increasingly being applied industry-wide to inform decisions during drug development and there reduce the associated time and cost. The key feature of QSP approaches that facilitates more informed decision making is the connection of underlying biological mechanisms to observed outcomes. As QSP continues to gain adoption inpharmaceutical R&D, it will be important to clarify its role in the context of other traditional modeling methods that have been routinely applied in the industry.
