Quantitative Systems Pharmacology in CNS Disorders Providing value for Pharmaceutical R&D in Neurology and Psychiatry

Hugo Geerts Scientific Liaison Officer at In Silico Biosciences

CNS Quantitative Systems Pharmacology uses computer-based mechanistic modeling integrating the biophysically realistic neurophysiology of brain networks, functional imaging of genetics, the pharmacology of drug-receptor interactions, human imaging on the pathological changes in disease and parametrization with historical clinical data. A computer model for an individual patient ('a human avatar') can be developed, allowing to address value proposition issues ranging from target validation over clinical candidate selection to support in early clinical development. We will show examples of key R&D support in Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia.
